How dominant-color extraction works
A typical photo contains thousands of distinct color values once you count every subtle gradient and lighting variation. Dominant-color extraction groups those near-identical values into clusters and returns one representative color per cluster, weighted by how much of the image each occupies.
The result is a short, usable palette rather than an overwhelming list. A sunset photo might collapse into a deep blue, a warm orange, a soft pink, and a near-black, the colors a human would name if asked to describe it.
