Pick the right output for the whole set

Because batch conversion applies one format to everything, choose based on where the images are headed. JPG for general sharing and maximum compatibility. PNG if any image needs transparency or is a screenshot or graphic with sharp edges. WebP to cut web page weight by 25-35% while keeping broad browser support. AVIF when you want the absolute smallest files and your destination supports it.

One caveat with mixed batches: forcing transparent PNGs into JPG flattens their transparency onto a solid background. If some images rely on a transparent background, use WebP or PNG for the whole batch so nothing gets an unwanted backdrop.

Why local batch processing scales better

Server-based batch converters have to upload every file, process them in a shared queue, then let you download, slow, capped, and a privacy risk when the images are personal or confidential.
